Another fabulous beach season is just a few months away, and women are flocking to Form and Face to see Dr Norris and talk about breast enhancement. He has a lot to share about the benefits of breast lifts, breast implants, and breast reduction surgery.
Having a breast procedure is an exciting undertaking. After it’s complete, however, some women find it challenging to shop for swimwear. To make that process a little easier, we’ve put together an itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikini guide to help you find swim suits you’ll love.
Safety First
As tempted as you may be to splash in the pool or the ocean with your new bikini and your new breasts, you will have to wait several weeks before doing so. All your incisions must heal closed and completely before you expose your skin to water. For most women, this is three weeks after surgery.
You must also be wary of the sun. Avoid direct sun until your incisions appear pale, flat, and soft, which can take several months. When you do go into the sun, make sure to put sunscreen on the incisions themselves, under your swim top to protect against rays that may penetrate the fabric.
You’ll be pleased to know there’s no restriction on lying under a beach umbrella and looking gorgeous.
Best Bikini after Breast Implants
Would it surprise you to know that a bikini is an excellent choice for women with larger busts? The trick to finding a top that is supportive and offers the right amount of coverage:
- Halter tops with wide side straps
- Any top with wide, adjustable straps
- Bandeaus with neck bands
- Tops with a band along the bottom of the bust
Other tips for a winning fit include:
- Look for brands that are sold by cup size, not just body size
- Look for straps that cross in the back
- Choose moulded foam cups to lift and separate
Bikini Tops after Breast Reduction
Women who naturally have a smaller chest or who have undergone breast reduction surgery have an advantage in swimwear. Their swim tops don’t have to be super-supportive, they can just be super sexy. That means they can wear:
- Triangle top string bikinis
- French bikini tops
- Strapless bandeau tops
- Tube tops
Other tricks to remember when selecting your swimwear:
- Ruffles add volume to your chest
- Bright colours make your chest the centre of attention
- Underwire and padding can add lift and create cleavage
What’s the most flattering swimsuit bikini top for you? One that fits you perfectly and makes you feel like a million dollars.
