Marilyn Cassetta

Marilyn has spent almost her entire career working with skin: from the late 1970’s the reconstructive side of plastic surgery was her focus, spending over seven years working in Burns ICU and Burn Rehabilitation and was then offered an opportunity to move into the cosmetic area when she was selected by Collagen Biomedical, as the USA’s first Aesthetic Nurse. After working seven years with several San Francisco plastic surgeons, she and her husband sailed throughout the South Pacific, arriving in Sydney in 1992. She was given the privilege to introduce the role of Aesthetic Nurse to Australia, as the advanced technique trainer for Collagen Biomedical, training doctors and nurses throughout the USA, Australia and New Zealand.

Marilyn regularly attends educational conferences throughout the world and maintains membership with several international plastic surgery organisations. She is an active and well-respected practitioner who was recently awarded the distinction of being the only nurse in Australia asked to serve as a Trustee of the Plastic Surgical Nurses Foundation (PSNF). The PSNF was created by the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses to foster the professional growth of plastic and aesthetic nursing to further advance the care of patients.

Over the past 2 decades, Marilyn has witnessed and experienced the revolution that has taken place in non-surgical skin rejuvenation with the introduction of synthetically produced, bio-compatible products, as well as, the shift in focusing primarily on wrinkle-filling to sculpting and volumising. One thing will never change, that is her attention to detail and desire to achieve subtle-looking results.
