Brachioplasty (Arm Lift) Before and After Photos
As we age, the skin on the arms becomes thinner and less elastic, while the muscles lose their tone and bulk. The fatty tissue under the skin also loses its volume. In addition, fluctuations in weight can lead to laxity and excess skin. An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, can help reshape the upper arms by removing excess skin and fat between the elbow and the armpit.

The outcomes shown are only relevant for this patient and do not necessarily reflect the results other patients may experience. Results may vary due to many factors, including the individual’s genetics and lifestyle.
The Brachioplasty Procedure
An arm lift, or a brachioplasty, takes two to three hours and is performed under general anaesthesia. During the procedure, Dr Norris will make an incision from the elbow to the armpit to remove excess skin and small deposits of fat. He will then redrape the skin and close the incision with stitches.
Suitable Candidates for Brachioplasty
At Form and Face Clinic in Sydney, the first step to determining candidacy for brachioplasty is to have a consultation with Dr Norris. Suitable candidates often display characteristics such as:
- Significant upper arm skin laxity
- Maintenance of a stable and healthy weight
- Good overall health without conditions that could hinder healing
- Realistic expectations regarding the outcomes of the procedure
What to Expect After an Arm Lift Brachioplasty
After the procedure, Dr Norris will apply a dressing or bandage to your incisions. A small, thin tube may also be placed under the skin to drain excess blood or fluid.
You will likely feel pain in the arm for the first two to three days following a brachioplasty. You will need to take some time off work to rest. However, most patients can return to all normal activities, including exercise, within four weeks.
