Breast Lift Mastopexy Before and After Photos

Over time, a woman’s breasts may begin to change shape, often as a result of age, pregnancy, gravity and weight loss. A breast lift mastopexy is designed to raise the breasts by removing excess skin and reducing the size of the areola.

Take the time to look at our breast mastopexy before and after photos to see Dr Norris’ work.

The outcomes shown are only relevant for this patient and do not necessarily reflect the results other patients may experience. Results may vary due to many factors, including the individual’s genetics and lifestyle.

The Breast Lift Procedure Mastopexy

Breast lift surgery, otherwise known as a mastopexy, takes between one to three hours to complete and is performed under general anaesthesia. Dr Norris will make an incision, most commonly around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease. Once the incisions are made, Dr Norris will remove excess skin, lift and reshape the underlying breast tissue, and reposition the nipple and areola. He will then tighten the remaining skin as he closes the incisions with sutures.

Suitable Candidates for Breast Lift Mastopexy

At Form and Face clinic in Sydney, determining candidacy for mastopexy begins with a consultation with Dr Norris. Suitable candidates typically meet the following conditions:

  • Their breasts are fully developed
  • Their breasts exhibit laxity or have lost shape and firmness
  • Their nipples fall below the breast crease when not supported by a bra
  • Their nipples and areolas point downwards
  • Their breast skin is stretched, and their areolas are enlarged
  • One breast is lower than the other
  • They are in good physical health
  • They hold realistic expectations

What to expect after a breast lift mastopexy

Following a breast lift mastopexy, you will need to wear a surgical bra to provide support to your breasts. A small, thin tube may also be placed under the skin to drain any excess blood or fluid in the days following the procedure.

You will need to take some time off work to rest following a breast lift mastopexy. However, most patients can return to all normal activities, except for strenuous exercise, within two weeks.
