Droopy Eyelids Are On Notice
An eyelid lift, also known as blepharoplasty, is a procedure to re-contour the upper and/or lower eyelids. It is recommended for people who are unhappy with bagginess along the upper eyelid and puffiness below the lower eyelid. Both contribute to a tired or prematurely aged look.
Dr Norris’s goal with blepharoplasty is to restore a fresh, wide-awake appearance to the upper face without actually changing the shape of the eyes, and with no tell-tale signs of surgery. He also performs ptosis surgery. This procedure addresses a droopy upper eyelid where the upper eyelid margin is lower than normal. In moderate to severe cases, the eyelid may cover all, or part of the pupil, affecting vision.
What an Eyelid Lift Can Do for You
During this in-office procedure—that’s right, no hospital stay required!—Dr Norris rejuvenates the eye area by performing one or more of the following procedures that fall under the umbrella name of blepharoplasty:
- Remove excess upper eyelid skin and fat
- Remove excess lower eyelid fat
- Remove excess lower eyelid skin
- Reposition lower eyelid fat to eliminate circles
Many of Dr Norris’s patients opt for adjunctive procedures that add to the overall success of an eyelid lift. These include:
- Smoothing the lower eyelid skin texture with a chemical peel
- Tightening the lower eyelids if they are baggy
- Tightening the muscles that cause vertical furrows between the eyebrows
- Lifting the eyebrows
Less Invasive, Less Expensive Eyelid Lift Surgery
Dr Norris performs eyelid lift procedures in our offices with local anaesthesia. Upper blepharoplasty generally takes less than an hour to complete, while lower blepharoplasty can take up to one and a half hours.
Patients are able to go home soon after the surgery is completed, and most need only a day or two to recover.
Because Dr Norris is able to perform this transformative surgery in our offices, without general anaesthesia, patients will feel less pain in their wallets: There is no cost for hospital and/or anaesthetists’ fees.
