Breast Augmentation – Are You Ready For The Beach?

Breast Augmentation – Are You Ready For The Beach?

Breast augmentation, one of the world’s most popular cosmetic surgery procedures, brings with it much promise and excitement. We see this all the time.

Women choose to have breast augmentation for many reasons. Dissatisfaction with their current body proportions or wanting an ideal figure are two reasons. Clothes also come into this equation—for one group, it’s being able to wear clothes that can better show off their new figure. For others it’s about being able to find clothes that fit.

Whatever your goal, breast augmentation can help create curves that didn’t exist before, enhance curves that are already there and repair and restore a figure lost to age, childbearing or weight loss. It’s also useful for those who have asymmetrical or mismatched breasts.

Breast augmentation has solutions for people in all of these categories. So long as your breasts are fully developed, regardless of their size, you are a candidate for breast augmentation.

Many studies have found that exposure to the media, friends who have had breast augmentation, money to spend on body enhancements and the influence of a romantic partner can all be motivating factors in the decision.

Other studies find that, overall, breast augmentation patients appear to be motivated by their feelings about their breasts rather than by direct or indirect influences from external sources. We find this very easy to believe. If you look beyond stereotypes, often it’s a woman’s own feelings about her body that have prompted her to seek us out for a breast augmentation consultation, and not outside influences at all.

Although breast augmentation is a popular procedure all year round, somewhere before summertime many of the above factors come together to prompt women to seek the shape they desire. And one of the procedures we see picking up from winter onwards and continuing through springtime in Australia is breast augmentation. Our patients are getting their bodies ready for Bondi Beach!

It makes sense to have breast augmentation in winter or in early spring. For one thing, your new breasts will take a bit of time to settle. And your scars, which you certainly do not want to expose to the sun too early, will be at their most prominent around six weeks after surgery. They will gradually fade and become much less noticeable in time.

Is there anything you can do about scars? Of course, there is. Massaging and moisturising your scars can speed up the healing process. For the few who develop stubborn scars, there are other solutions. But most women do not find scarring an issue.
