Form and Face Patient Perspective: Diary of a Breast Augmentation

Form and Face Patient Perspective: Diary of a Breast Augmentation

Many of our patients arrive at Form and Face for a breast augmentation consultation eager, expectant, and a little bit fearful. I certainly understand their concerns. That’s why I’m grateful to one of my patients for her willingness to share her personal diary in this post.

I hope it will provide a true patient perspective on this proven method of figure enhancement. Here are her experiences, in her own words:

Profile: Breast Augmentation Patient at Form and Face

I’ve always been fairly slim. At school I was the tallest and skinniest kid most of the time, so my frame has always been ectomorph-ish. At 36 years old I’m not as slim as I was at the age of 12, but I’m by no means large: 170 cm’s tall and around 57 kgs, give or take a few.

I look after myself with a good diet and plenty of exercise, including Pilates, yoga and weights training. I’m still lean, but I’ve realised that since the age of 30, I seem to gain about half a kilo of fat every year. Regardless of this, my little boobs were still an A-Cup and they didn’t seem to balance what appeared to my eye to be an ever-widening posterior.

I must admit to having been a little judgmental of women who have their breasts done. I’ve felt that breast augmentation could look ‘fake’ and wondered if the girls behind the implants were fake, too. The older I get, though, the more comfortable I am in my own skin and the less judge-y I am about others. Thank goodness for that!

Why shouldn’t we change what we don’t like if we have the means to do so?! I realised that there’s nothing fake or insecure about wanting to look your best. With that realisation, I’m about to embark on my journey to bigger, bolder, better boobage.

Selecting a Surgeon for Breast Augmentation

There are SO many surgeons advertising online, all of who sound and look as though they do good work.

My one prerequisite is that the surgeon I select must have

  • A good reputation for excellent work
  • A good reputation for patient care
  • A willingness to honour my desire to not have huge implants that look obvious. (Huge implants are just NOT my style.)

I know I don’t want to go to ‘cut-price Joe.’ If I’m going to have surgery to alter my body, I want to do it once, do it right, and not worry about whether or not I’m in safe hands.

Doing my research, I repeatedly came across the name Dr Benjamin Norris and the Form and Face practice in Bondi Junction. I’ll be honest. I liked the fact that

  • His website is classy and sophisticated
  • He has great photos of women that look similar to me
  • His post-surgery patients all look subtle and natural and really, really happy

I also liked Dr Norris’ smile, so I decided to book a consultation (shallow of me, I know!). It will be a month before he can see me, but he doesn’t have any openings sooner. I like that.  A doctor who’s in demand!
